Datanla waterfall for first-time visitors: which coaster and ticket to choose

Datanla's two alpine coasters are fairly close in price, but they offer different ride lengths and lead to different waterfall areas. Choosing the right ticket saves you from paying for an activity you don't need or discovering that waterfall admission isn't included.

By Da Lat LoversPublished Updated

Before buying your Datanla Waterfall tickets, decide whether you want to visit Waterfall 1 or Waterfall 3. Waterfall 1 has a walking trail and a shorter alpine coaster, while Waterfall 3 is reached by a longer 2,400-meter coaster. Adult admission starts at VND 80,000 for a walking visit, while a round-trip alpine coaster experience costs around VND 210,000-250,000 at 2026 prices.

Where is Datanla waterfall, and is it worth visiting?

Datanla Waterfall is located along National Highway 20, near Prenn Pass, in Xuan Huong Ward, Da Lat, Lam Dong Province.

It's approximately 5-6 kilometers from Da Lat Market or Xuan Huong Lake, depending on where you start.

This isn't a waterfall hidden deep in the forest that requires several hours of trekking. Datanla is an established tourist attraction with ticket counters, walking paths, alpine coasters, and adventure activities.

You can walk down to see the waterfall and return, ride an alpine coaster, or spend more time trying ziplining, high ropes, or canyoning.

One important detail: Datanla has several waterfall areas and different activity routes. Buying admission to Waterfall 1 doesn't automatically give you access to every attraction in the park.

Datanla is particularly suitable for three types of visitors:

  • First-time visitors: People who want to see a waterfall, try an alpine coaster, and return to central Da Lat within a few hours.
  • Families with children: Visitors looking for manageable activities without too much uphill walking.
  • Adventure seekers: Travelers interested in forest ziplining, high ropes, or canyoning.

On the other hand, if you prefer quiet, undeveloped waterfalls with very few tourists, Datanla might feel commercialized. It's more of an organized outdoor adventure park than a wilderness trekking destination.

How much time should you spend at Datanla?

Here's a practical guide:

ActivityRecommended time
Walk to Waterfall 1 and explore1-1.5 hours
Alpine Coaster 1 or 31.5-2 hours
Alpine coaster, photos, and a short break2-3 hours
High Rope Course and sightseeingAround 3 hours
1,500 m zipline and sightseeingAround 2-3 hours
Canyoning adventure5-6 hours

These are reasonable amounts of time to reserve in your itinerary, not guaranteed activity durations. On weekends and holidays, queues can make the visit longer.

If you're spending only two days and one night in Da Lat, one alpine coaster ride is enough. There's no need to buy several activities just to try everything.

Does the alpine coaster ticket include waterfall admission?

This is probably the easiest part of the ticket system to misunderstand.

For adults, at 2026 prices:

  • Walking admission to Waterfall 1: VND 80,000.
  • One-way Alpine Coaster 1: VND 110,000 + VND 80,000 admission = VND 190,000.
  • Round-trip Alpine Coaster 1: VND 130,000 + VND 80,000 admission = VND 210,000.
  • Round-trip Alpine Coaster 3: VND 250,000, including admission along the Waterfall 3 route.

That means Coaster 3 costs only VND 40,000 more than the complete adult round-trip Coaster 1 experience.

For travelers who mainly want to enjoy the coaster, that difference is worth considering. Coaster 3 is longer, has more curves, and doesn't require a separate admission ticket for its own waterfall route.

However, don't assume a Coaster 3 ticket provides unrestricted access to every waterfall section. If you want to visit both Waterfall 1 and Waterfall 3, confirm the ticket arrangement with the staff.

Are children's tickets based on age or height?

Ticket categories are based on height:

  • Under 100 cm: Generally eligible for free admission under the standard policy.
  • 100 cm to under 140 cm: Children's ticket prices apply.
  • 140 cm and above: Standard ticket prices apply.

The rules for participating in activities are different from admission pricing.

For alpine coasters, children must be at least three years old and 90 cm tall, as well as meeting the operator's safety requirements.

Children using Coaster 3 must be accompanied by an adult.

A child who qualifies for free general admission is not automatically entitled to a free coaster ride or permitted to join every activity.

Alpine Coaster 1 vs. Alpine Coaster 3: which should you choose?

Datanla has two main alpine coaster routes, officially listed as Waterfall 1 Coaster and Waterfall 3 Coaster.

Both use small carts running along winding tracks through the pine forest. They're not water slides.

Passengers sit in a cart and control their speed using the provided mechanism, following the operator's instructions. Each route stops at its corresponding waterfall area.

Alpine Coaster 1: better for first-time riders

Alpine Coaster 1 is approximately 1,200 meters long.

It follows a relatively manageable winding route through the forest and takes visitors down to Waterfall 1.

It's a good choice if you're traveling with someone who has never ridden an alpine coaster, children who meet the participation requirements, or anyone who prefers a milder experience.

There are two ticket options.

One-way ticket: Ride the coaster downhill to Waterfall 1, then walk back uphill along the designated trail.

Round-trip ticket: Ride down, stop to explore the waterfall, and use the coaster again to return.

The 2026 adult prices are VND 110,000 for a one-way ticket and VND 130,000 for a round-trip ticket, excluding waterfall admission.

The difference is only VND 20,000.

For anyone who doesn't want to climb uphill, the round-trip ticket makes much more sense.

The walking route to Waterfall 1 is approximately 1 kilometer long and includes around 200 steps.

Walking downhill is usually easier. Coming back up can be tiring, especially if you've already spent the morning sightseeing around Da Lat.

Choose the one-way ticket only if you genuinely want to combine a downhill coaster ride with an uphill walk.

Alpine Coaster 3: better for a longer, more exciting ride

Alpine Coaster 3 is approximately 2,400 meters long.

It's billed as the longest alpine coaster in Southeast Asia.

The route winds through pine forest with downhill sections and curves that make the experience more exciting than the shorter coaster.

Passengers stop at Waterfall 3 before returning along the coaster route.

The 2026 ticket prices are VND 250,000 per adult and VND 150,000 per child, including admission along the route.

The main advantage is the longer ride.

If riding the coaster is your favorite part of the visit, Coaster 3 gives you more track and more time to enjoy it.

You don't have to travel at maximum speed. Riders control their speed using the provided mechanism and must follow staff instructions.

Actual speed also depends on operating conditions and the distance between carts.

One thing worth knowing: on busy days, a slow cart ahead of you can affect your ride. You may have to reduce your speed or follow the system's traffic controls, so don't expect to travel fast throughout the entire route.

Which one should you buy?

If you only want to see the waterfall and don't enjoy amusement rides, skip the coaster entirely. The VND 80,000 adult walking admission is enough for Waterfall 1.

If you prefer a gentle adventure, choose Coaster 1 round trip. Saving VND 20,000 on a one-way ticket isn't worthwhile if you don't actually want to walk uphill.

If you're visiting mainly for the coaster and your budget allows VND 250,000, Coaster 3 is generally the more interesting option, provided you meet its participation requirements.

What else can you do at Datanla waterfall?

Besides the two alpine coasters, Datanla offers a High Rope Course, a 1,500-meter zipline, Pine Kart, a net playground, and canyoning.

These activities differ considerably in duration, physical demands, and intensity.

Datanla 1,500 m zipline: for people who enjoy heights

VND 1,000,000/person

Two visitors riding the Datanla zipline over pines
Photo: Oxalis Adventure
Red harnesses on, each rider takes a separate cable across the pine canopy

The Datanla zipline takes visitors across the pine forest on an approximately 1,500-meter adventure.

The experience includes two sections:

  • The first section is approximately 1,000 meters long, crossing forested terrain at considerable height, with a maximum height of around 130 meters.
  • The second section is approximately 500 meters long and takes visitors toward Waterfall 3.

Afterward, participants can visit Waterfall 3 and return using the 2,400-meter alpine coaster included in the program.

The 2026 price is VND 1,000,000 per person.

This is a completely different experience from the short zipline sections within the High Rope Course.

Instead of working through numerous obstacles, you'll wear a safety harness and specialist equipment while traveling along a long cable route.

Choose this activity if you genuinely want the feeling of traveling high above the forest.

Don't buy it just because you think it's a longer version of the alpine coaster.

Before booking, check the participation requirements.

Participants must be at least 120 cm tall and weigh 40-135 kg.

If your weight is near the upper limit, contact the operator directly before booking.

Participation is also restricted for certain medical conditions, including cardiovascular disease, high blood pressure, epilepsy, and pregnancy.

Clothing and hair must be secured, and loose items or handheld phones are not permitted during the ride.

High Rope Course: choose this if you want a physical challenge

VND 360,000/person

Platforms, nets and rope bridges of the High Rope Course hide among the pines

The High Rope Course is a series of elevated obstacles arranged between trees and purpose-built structures.

The program includes approximately 60 challenges divided into five difficulty levels.

Depending on the course, participants may cross ropes, walk over suspended wooden platforms, use short ziplines, and tackle Tarzan-style obstacles.

Unlike the 1,500-meter zipline, High Rope requires continuous physical effort.

You aren't simply seated in equipment and transported from one point to another.

The 2026 price is VND 360,000 per person.

There's also a discounted VND 300,000 rate for eligible students, which should be confirmed at the ticket counter.

Participants must be at least 140 cm tall, weigh no more than 125 kg, and fit the safety equipment correctly.

Closed-toe shoes are required, and long hair must be tied back.

The maximum activity duration is approximately two hours.

This is a good choice for groups of friends who enjoy climbing, balancing, and testing their physical abilities.

However, anyone who tires easily, dislikes climbing, or feels uncomfortable with heights may not enjoy the full course.

Pine Kart: a short activity that's easy to fit into your day

VND 150,000/person

Pine Kart involves driving a small cart along a track through the pine forest.

The 2026 ticket price is VND 150,000 per person for two laps, covering approximately 1,200 meters in total.

Driving time is around 10 minutes, excluding the safety briefing.

The activity is intended for people aged 12-65, weighing under 80 kg. Each cart carries one person.

Pine Kart is a reasonable choice if you want to add a short activity after your alpine coaster ride without spending another half-day at Datanla.

Don't confuse it with the alpine coasters. They use different vehicles and routes.

Net Playground: an option for families with young children

VND 150,000/person

The Net Playground is an active play area featuring challenges on a suspended net system.

The 2026 price is VND 150,000 per person.

It's suitable for children and adults under 65, with younger children who can walk steadily potentially able to participate depending on the specific activity requirements.

For families with children who don't meet the height restrictions for other attractions, the playground may be worth considering.

Check with staff about suitable sections, age requirements, and child supervision before entering.

Canyoning: reserve most of your day for this activity

VND 1,886,000/person

Photo: Chung dalat
Helmets, buoyancy vests and harnesses on, canyoners take turns abseiling down the falls

Canyoning involves navigating waterfall terrain using techniques such as abseiling, moving through streams, and descending wet rock faces.

The program includes six challenges, such as waterfall abseiling, natural water slides, and sections through rocky streams.

The 2026 price is VND 1,886,000 per person.

The program takes approximately five to six hours.

This isn't something to squeeze into a short waterfall visit.

You'll need enough time, suitable clothing, appropriate physical fitness, and a willingness to follow technical instructions.

Participants should wear footwear suitable for wet terrain and quick-drying clothing, following the operator's equipment requirements.

The activity is unsuitable for certain medical conditions, including some cardiovascular and neurological conditions.

Previous canyoning experience isn't necessary, but participants must complete the safety briefing and meet the operator's requirements before starting.

Canyoning makes sense if you're actively looking for an outdoor adventure.

If your Da Lat trip is short and you don't have a particular interest in canyoning, skip it and spend the time somewhere else.

Choosing Datanla tickets by budget: VND 100,000, 250,000, or 1 million?

There isn't one perfect Datanla ticket for everyone.

The easiest approach is to decide how much each person wants to spend and choose one main experience.

Budget: under VND 100,000 per person

Choose Waterfall 1 admission.

Adult entry costs VND 80,000 in 2026.

You can walk down to the waterfall, enjoy the scenery, take photographs, and return using the walking trail.

The paved trail down to the falls, easy going on the way down and a climb on the way back

This is the best budget option for visitors who don't mind stairs.

You don't need to buy a coaster ticket just because everyone else is riding one.

Budget: around VND 200,000-250,000 per person

This is the most practical budget range for first-time Datanla visitors.

You have two main choices:

  • VND 210,000: Adult Waterfall 1 admission plus a round-trip Coaster 1 ticket.
  • VND 250,000: Adult round-trip Coaster 3 ticket, including admission along its route.

For a family wanting a calmer ride, Coaster 1 is the safer choice in terms of intensity.

For friends who prefer a longer ride, Coaster 3 is worth the extra money.

Budget: around VND 350,000-500,000 per person

Consider the High Rope Course at VND 360,000 or a shorter activity combined with waterfall sightseeing.

Don't automatically assume that every adventure ticket includes admission to all waterfall sections.

Check the ticket description and included services before paying.

At this budget level, it's better to prioritize one main activity rather than filling your itinerary with several.

Buying too many activities can turn a pleasant morning into a rush between ticket counters.

Budget: VND 1,000,000 or more per person

The 1,500-meter zipline is the main option for travelers who want a high-altitude adventure.

The zipline program also includes sightseeing at Waterfall 3 and a return ride on the long alpine coaster.

Before purchasing a separate coaster ticket, check what the zipline package already includes.

You could also choose canyoning at VND 1,886,000 per person, but this is a half-day guided adventure rather than a quick activity.

Example: ticket costs for a family of four

Suppose you're traveling with two adults and two children measuring between 100 cm and under 140 cm, with both children meeting the requirements for alpine coaster participation.

OptionTotal at 2026 prices
Everyone walks to Waterfall 1VND 260,000
Everyone takes round-trip Coaster 1, including admissionVND 700,000
Everyone takes round-trip Coaster 3VND 800,000

These totals cover the listed tickets only. Food, transportation, and optional services aren't included.

The difference between the two round-trip coaster options is only VND 100,000 for the entire family.

Choose according to everyone's preferences and participation requirements, not simply the lowest advertised ticket price.

Datanla waterfall opening hours: when does it open and close?

The recreation area operates from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM, with the final admission cutoff at 4:30 PM.

The important distinction is between the park's general operating hours and the final admission times for individual activities.

Activity opening and admission hours

ActivityAdmission hours

CanyoningDepartures between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM

These are admission windows, not a promise that every activity can be completed by arriving at the last minute.

What is the best time to visit Datanla?

For a first visit, aim to arrive around 8:00-9:00 AM.

That leaves enough time to buy tickets, enjoy an alpine coaster, and explore the waterfall before lunch.

On weekends and public holidays, arriving earlier is sensible because queues may be longer.

If you want to try the High Rope Course, remember that admission closes at 2:00 PM.

Don't arrive at 2:30 PM expecting to start the full activity.

The 1,500-meter zipline accepts visitors until 3:30 PM, but you'll still need time for registration and safety instructions.

For canyoning, reserve the entire morning.

Bookings are required at least two hours before departure, with departures scheduled between 8:00 AM and 11:00 AM.

Can you ride the Datanla alpine coaster when it rains?

Outdoor activities may be temporarily suspended during heavy rain or whenever conditions aren't considered safe.

This is particularly relevant when Da Lat experiences prolonged rain, thick fog, or wet track conditions.

Datanla Waterfall in full flow over dark rocks in the forest near Da Lat
Photo: Prenn
When the water is high, the falls pour white over the dark rocks

Don't build your entire day's itinerary around one outdoor activity if the weather forecast looks poor.

Because the exact treatment depends on the ticket and circumstances, confirm the postponement policy with staff before paying.

Don't assume every ticket will automatically be refunded if it rains.

How to get to Datanla waterfall from Da Lat city center

From Da Lat Market, travel toward Ong Dao Bridge and Ho Tung Mau Street, then connect to 3 Thang 4 Street toward National Highway 20 and Prenn Pass.

Datanla is located along this route, with signs directing visitors toward the entrance.

The journey isn't long, but the mountain road has curves, larger vehicles, and potentially slippery sections during wet weather.

By taxi or ride-hailing service

This is the easiest option for families with children, older travelers, or anyone unfamiliar with Da Lat's roads.

You can book through a ride-hailing application operating in your area or ask your hotel to arrange a taxi.

When selecting your destination, search for Datanla Waterfall Tourist Area along National Highway 20 near Prenn Pass.

Don't choose a random waterfall pin deep in the forest, as it may not correspond to the visitor entrance.

Check the fare in your ride-hailing app or confirm the price with the taxi operator before departure.

There isn't one fixed fare that applies to every hotel and every time of day.

You can also discuss your return pickup location with the driver.

If you're using a ride-hailing service, check whether a return car is likely to be available before heading down to the waterfall.

By rented motorbike

From central Da Lat, follow 3 Thang 4 Street toward Prenn Pass and the entrance on National Highway 20.

A motorbike gives you flexibility if you want to combine Datanla with other attractions south of Da Lat, such as Tuyen Lam Lake or Truc Lam Zen Monastery.

However, Prenn Pass has bends and regular vehicle traffic.

Stay in the correct lane, slow down before corners, and don't stop on the mountain road to take photographs.

If you're unfamiliar with mountain roads or don't have a valid license for the motorbike you're riding, choose a taxi or car with a driver.

A short journey still requires safe and legal driving.

Can you walk to Datanla from central Da Lat?

It's not recommended.

The waterfall is approximately 5-6 kilometers from the city center, and the route includes part of a mountain road used by motor vehicles.

This isn't comparable to a walk around Xuan Huong Lake.

You would spend a considerable amount of time walking along a traffic route, only to arrive at a place where more walking or physical activity is involved.

If you want to walk in the forest, save that energy for the designated trail to Waterfall 1 inside the park.

How to buy the right Datanla ticket

Once you arrive at the entrance, don't immediately buy whichever activity the first ticket counter promotes.

Start by deciding which waterfall area you want to visit.

  1. Step 1

Choose Waterfall 1 or Waterfall 3

Waterfall 1 is suitable for walking, general sightseeing, and the shorter alpine coaster.

Waterfall 3 is better for people who want the longer coaster or an adventure package that includes this area.

If some members of your group aren't riding the coaster, agree on a clear meeting point.

The two coaster routes don't lead to one interchangeable walking area where everyone can move freely between attractions.

  2. Step 2

Check the ticket name and direction of travel

The booking system lists activities under names such as:

    • Datanla Waterfall Admission.
    • Waterfall 1 Coaster - One Way.
    • Waterfall 1 Coaster - Round Trip.
    • Waterfall 3 Coaster - Round Trip.
    • Zipline 1500m.
    • High Rope Course.

    Read the included services carefully.

For Waterfall 1, admission must be purchased separately when choosing an alpine coaster ticket.

This extra cost is easy to miss when you only see the VND 110,000 or VND 130,000 coaster price.

  3. Step 3

Check height, weight, and health requirements

Don't buy adventure tickets for your entire group before confirming that everyone is eligible.

For example, the High Rope Course requires a minimum height of 140 cm, while the 1,500-meter zipline requires at least 120 cm and has separate weight restrictions.

For alpine coasters, each cart can carry a maximum of two people, with a combined weight limit of 120 kg.

There are also body-size requirements to ensure the restraints and equipment can be used correctly.

The operating staff are responsible for checking whether visitors meet the actual participation requirements.

  4. Step 4

Confirm activity times and rain policies

If you're arriving in the afternoon, ask whether the activity is still accepting visitors, how long the queue is, and whether the experience can be completed before closing.

For ziplining and canyoning in particular, advance booking is preferable to arriving without a plan.

Tickets can be purchased through the official booking system of Dalattourist, the park's operator, or at the on-site counter, subject to availability.

Visiting Datanla with children and older travelers

A group with several generations shouldn't automatically purchase the same ticket for everyone.

Some people may want the longest coaster ride, while others would prefer a relaxed walk and a view of the waterfall.

Families with young children

First, check your children's ages and heights.

Children who don't meet the alpine coaster requirements may still be able to visit suitable sightseeing areas or use parts of the Net Playground with staff approval.

Children who qualify for the coaster can ride with an adult according to the rules for that route.

Follow staff instructions on seating arrangements and operating procedures.

Don't pressure a child to try an activity simply because you've already bought a ticket.

For elevated activities, a child may become frightened after seeing the actual height of the course.

Families with older visitors

Older visitors who are physically comfortable with walking and stairs may be able to reach Waterfall 1 on foot.

However, consider the climb back up, not just the downhill section.

A round-trip alpine coaster can reduce the amount of walking, but participants must still meet the activity's health and safety requirements.

It isn't automatically suitable for every older person.

Anyone with balance problems, mobility limitations, or relevant medical conditions should consult staff before buying a ticket.

The 1,500-meter zipline has its own medical and participation restrictions.

Don't purchase it for an older family member without first confirming eligibility.

Groups with different interests

Some friends might want an adventure, while others just want to take photographs.

You can split into smaller groups, but choose an area with a clear meeting point.

Someone holding only a Waterfall 1 admission ticket shouldn't be told to meet at the end of Coaster 3 without first checking how to get there.

The simplest approach is to agree on a common sightseeing area, then let eligible visitors buy the additional activities they want.

Not everyone in the group has to participate in the same attraction.

Practical tips for visiting Datanla

Wear shoes with good grip

Datanla has sloping trails, steps, damp areas, and walking routes through the forest.

Trainers or shoes with good grip are more practical than slippery sandals, especially if you're walking to Waterfall 1.

The High Rope Course requires closed-toe shoes.

Canyoning participants should follow the operator's instructions for footwear suitable for wet and uneven terrain.

Travel light

A small backpack with water, a lightweight rain jacket, and basic personal items is enough for a normal sightseeing visit.

For ziplining and alpine coasters, loose belongings must be secured or stored according to staff instructions.

Don't use your phone during a ride if the rules prohibit it.

If you want photographs, take them at the designated stopping areas.

Check photo and video prices

Automatic cameras may take photographs of visitors riding the alpine coasters.

The photo service for Coaster 3 costs VND 90,000 per printed photograph, including a digital file.

The fact that your photograph was taken automatically doesn't mean all photos are free.

For the 1,500-meter zipline, the optional 360° video service costs VND 250,000 according to the 2026 price list.

Neither purchase is necessary to enjoy the activity.

Ask to see the available photos or video examples before deciding.

Arrive early on weekends

Datanla is a popular tourist attraction with multiple activities, so queues can become longer when large numbers of visitors arrive.

Coming in the morning gives you more flexibility.

If you plan to try two or more activities, start with the one that stops accepting visitors earliest.

For example, High Rope Course admission ends at 2:00 PM, while the alpine coasters accept visitors until 4:30 PM.

Don't book canyoning on a tightly packed day

Canyoning takes approximately five to six hours, excluding additional time for transportation, changing clothes, and preparing.

It's not a good match for a morning when you have several other attractions to visit.

If canyoning is a priority, dedicate most of the day to it.

Have a backup plan for rain

Da Lat can experience rain and fog, particularly during seasonal weather changes.

Check the forecast, but remember that the operator makes the final decision about whether an outdoor activity can run.

If heavy rain forces an activity to close, don't enter restricted areas or search for an alternative route down to the waterfall.

Moving your visit to another day may be better than waiting until the park is almost closed.

A half-day Datanla waterfall itinerary

For first-time visitors, one morning is generally enough to enjoy an alpine coaster and explore the waterfall without rushing.

Easy itinerary: Waterfall 1 and round-trip coaster

  1. 8:00 AM

    Set off

Leave central Da Lat by taxi or motorbike.

  2. 8:30 AM

    Buy tickets

    Rest or add one more

Rest or consider another short activity if time allows.

After either itinerary, you could visit Tuyen Lam Lake, Truc Lam Zen Monastery, or return to central Da Lat for lunch.

If you're combining several attractions south of the city, visit Datanla first rather than leaving it until late afternoon.

You'll have more flexibility with activity admission times and a lower chance of arriving after your chosen attraction has closed.

What international visitors should know before visiting Datanla

The attraction is commonly called Datanla Waterfall in English.

When booking activities, you may encounter the following names:

  • Alpine Coaster: A cart ride on a fixed mountain track.
  • Coaster 1: The shorter coaster serving Waterfall 1.
  • Coaster 3 or New Alpine Coaster: The longer coaster serving Waterfall 3.
  • Zipline 1500m: A long-distance zipline through the forest.
  • High Rope Course: An elevated obstacle course.
  • Canyoning: A guided adventure involving waterfall descents and stream terrain.

You can use these English names when asking staff about activities or searching for tickets.

Ticket prices are listed in Vietnamese dong.

Check the actual amount when booking rather than relying on old articles that convert ticket prices into US dollars or other currencies.

Before making an online payment, read what's included in the package and check all participation conditions.

For activities requiring technical safety instructions, such as ziplining and canyoning, make sure you understand the operator's instructions before participating.

International visitors planning to ride a motorbike to Datanla must have a driving license valid in Vietnam for the type of vehicle they're using.

Don't rent a motorbike simply because the waterfall is close to the city.

For travelers unfamiliar with Vietnamese road conditions, a taxi or car with a driver is often the easier option.

Which Datanla waterfall ticket is the best value?

If you only want to see a waterfall, the VND 80,000 adult admission to Waterfall 1 is enough at 2026 prices.

You'll need to walk down and return using the designated route.

If you're visiting Datanla for the first time and mainly want an alpine coaster experience, the VND 250,000 adult round-trip Coaster 3 ticket is worth considering, provided you're comfortable with the activity and meet its requirements.

It's longer than Coaster 1 and includes admission along the Waterfall 3 route.

For families looking for a milder ride, choose Coaster 1 round trip.

The total adult cost is VND 210,000, including admission and the round-trip coaster, at 2026 prices.

The 1,500-meter zipline is for travelers who want a high-altitude experience and can spend around VND 1 million per person.

High Rope is better for people who enjoy active climbing and obstacle courses, while canyoning makes sense when you have at least half a day and genuinely want a challenging outdoor adventure.

Before your visit, open the Booking section on the official website, select Datanla Tourist Area, and choose your travel date. Check the exact coaster route, one-way or round-trip ticket type, participation requirements, and final payment amount before checking out.

Coaster 1 is approximately 1,200 meters long and is a good choice for first-time riders and families seeking a milder experience. What time does Datanla Waterfall open and close?

The recreation area operates from 7:15 AM to 5:00 PM, with general admissions ending at 4:30 PM. Alpine coasters accept visitors from 7:15 AM to 4:30 PM, the 1,500-meter zipline from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and the High Rope Course from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Can you visit Datanla Waterfall without riding an alpine coaster?

Yes. You can buy a Waterfall 1 admission ticket and use the forest walking trail without purchasing a coaster ticket. The walking route is approximately 1 kilometer long and includes around 200 steps. Remember to allow enough energy for both the downhill walk and the climb back, especially when visiting with children or older family members.

Is Datanla's 1,500-meter zipline the same as the ziplines in the High Rope Course?

No. The 1,500-meter zipline is a long-distance forest adventure that costs VND 1,000,000 per person at 2026 prices. The High Rope Course is an elevated obstacle program that includes short zipline sections and normally costs VND 360,000 per person. Choose the 1,500-meter zipline for the experience of traveling high above the forest, or High Rope if you prefer climbing, balancing, and physical challenges.
